If you go to sunbiz.org the Florida department of corporations and search husky cargo, view all documents see the new owner is Alumatek Industries, then search Alumatek Industries and view all documents (pdfs on bottom) you will see they are all signed by Micheal Gatewood!

Micheal Gatewood is the person who stole your money, Paypal account for Husky Cargo deposits was in the name Micheal Gatewood, his email: mgatewood@***.com this *** has robbed all of you. Here is his cell number (if he hasn't shut it off) 813-493-****

You MUST report him to the Polk County Sheriff, the Bartow Municipal Airport since the property he was using for this scam is STILL owned by his father Cliff under the name Lone Wolf Properties who is now his partner on Alumatek Industries, LLC and in on the scam. The Florida Attorney General office as well as the BBB. I know this all will take you a little time (20 to 30 minutes) BUT this guy has ROBBED you, us...all of us intentionally.

Call Polk County Sheriff: 863-298-**** ask to speak to fraud dept or detective unit. This company has pulled the SAME scam operating out of Georgia under the name Hurricane Cargo - Same owner. Airport employees confirm the building is empty, the business has left with everyone's money. There is no IMAGINARY second partner who stole the money. the owner is Michael Gatewood who has done this repeatedly under other company names. Cell Phone for Michael Gatewood Owner of Husky Cargo and hurricane Cargo is 813-493-****. One employee on the property earlier this week stated that Michael Gatewood didn't pay his employees and is reopening under a new name AlumaTech Trailers with this new company in his father's name. Additionally the 'receivership' emails sent are all ***, if the company was in receivership you would have received actual written notice by the creditors (no creditors - his dad is the 'creditor') not a fake husky cargo email address at gmail. How ridiculous.

Actually, his number ends in 2836. Not 2863...

His new home address is 1918 Sydney Rd Valrico, Fl.

Aubrey Nicholson just purchased a home in Fitzgerald, Ga where Hurricane trailers(previous scam was pulled off). His address is 260 Wilson Ave Fitzgerald, Ga.

Right down the street from the other guy Benji Giddens..

Now at 119 Country Branch Ln. Fitzgerald, Ga.

I want the cops to hunt these bastards down..

Check out this link to the Florida corporation search website. Looks like the rumors are true.

Mr. Gatewood has been busy spending our money. Check out the dates on these documents and his signature on them. Looks like the plans started back in December.

If this is true it would be fraud continuing business knowing he was moving over to this other corporation.

Reputable dealers

There are few areas that don't have at least one reputable cargo trailer dealer, most of whom have spent many years building an excellent reputation. They keep a large inventory of trailers so you can see what you are going to get, offer expert advice according to your needs, and can order a special trailer for you built by the companies you see represented on their lots. They stand behind what they sell, providing you assurance of getting what you bargained for, and are there to provide service after the sale (often under warranty) should something not be right. Isn't it amazing how many people are so afraid that these folks will make a few hundred dollars for their trouble and investment that they will contact some fast talker they found on the internet, then spend no-telling-how-much on gas, wear and tear on car and tires, and time driving for their "factory pickup." Then when the piece of *** trailer predictably falls apart, they have nowhere to turn. And that's when they get a trailer at all, and are not just quickly scammed out of a huge deposit. Every scam is built on the twin pillars of greed and ignorance.

Couple hundred dollars? Whatever bud.

Did my homework and gave Husky Cargo the benefit of doubt because, like the previous post, I didn't think we'd all be completely flat out scammed.

A low end trailer was at least $2k more in Maryland than it would have been buying from Husky Cargo...and that wasn't even with the preferred add-ons I wanted.

Yea, I went the route of paying $4200 and driving to pick it up instead of paying $6500 here in MD. Will give you the fact that I got completely screwed. But by all accounts, most said they made a good trailer even though their customer service sucked.

Trailer dealers may make a "couple hundred." Don't buy it because they wouldn't be in business long if that were the case. The transport company also makes their "couple hundred." Who else am I forgetting?

$2k+ is a good amount of money.

Ordered what I wanted and would have paid a LOT less....again, IF I had actually gotten a trailer that, theoretically was the "good quality" they were making by many standards.

Lot of us got screwed.

That's our fault? Take your comment and shove it.

Guest

I think you are ignorant for saying that those who have been a victim of being scammed is because their ignorant. Some people don't think about these type of things, not because they are *** and trying to save money, sometimes people are scammed because they are unable to comprehend how someone could do this to another person because they are incapable of even thinking to the depths of a *** artist's thought process.

What is obvious to some might not be obvious to others, not because their ignorant but because they are more trusting.

Shame on Husky Cargo, not the people who were the victims of Husky Cargo. And shame on you for expecting the purchasers to take some of the blame because they expected a company to do what they were paid to do and said they would do.

Electrical issues

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The day after Memorial Day I was attempting to leave at 5AM on my way to New Hampshire. I was checking my lights and had no running lights on the trailer. I checked the 7prong connector on my motorhome and had no voltage. I checked the fuse the owners manual said was the trailer plug and it was good so I waited to daylight as I had brake, directional, and flasher light, just no running lights. I went to General RV where I purchased the RV and had them check the coach to find out why I had no power to the running light prong. Hence they found a blown Mega fuse and replaced it with the trailer lights disconnected. Everything was working at the trailer receptacle. Plugged the trailer in and immediately blew the running light fuse again. The mechanic opened the battery box to check the connections that were made in there and found a bare black wire which is used for the charging circuit, but told me that is not the problem. We crawled under the trailer at the left rear corner and found the wires pulled banjo tight going thru *** drilled in the metal with no grommet. He examined the green wire and found the insulation worn thru and figured that was were it was grounded. He cut it and added a small piece of wire so it would be so tight going thru the metal. He then replaced the fuse again and it blew again. We then found the same situation at the upper left corner inside the trailer and proceeded to repair it. ( Never seen such poor workmanship when drilling thru metal and not installing grommets) Replaced fuse and running lights stayed on but the trailer was stationary, not being towed. It was almost 2PM in the afternoon so I didn't need the running lights to hit the road. Paid the bill for working on the trailer ( $222.11 I think) When it came time to use the running lights that night, it blew the fuse again. Now I'm pissed because I had to pull off the road for the night due to no *** running lights. The next morning I started to pull the trim wood off in the top right corner as the wire would not budge. It was jammed between the metal and the wood. I unscrewed the piece of wood across the top back of the trailer and found a pinched wire in the shape of a "z" caused by wood and no grommet to protect it. I didn't see and bare wire so I just cut the trim piece about 1" shorter than what it was to prevent it from putting pressure on the wire where it exits the hole in the metal. I then put a piece of plastic looming over the wire thru the hole to protect it. I have not tried the running light as of yet and won't until I install a 30amp fuse holder in the green wire in the battery case. The Mega fuse id $4.00 verses maybe .50 for the small fuse. As of now I can only travel during daylight hours. I still don't have running lights. I have taken some pictures of what I found and have a copy of the bill from General RV which I expect to be reimbursed along with my time spent fixing a very poorly wired trailer. I will post on the internet reviews for Husky Cargo Trailers if this issue is not handled in a timely fashion. Vern Fitts

HOLY SHEEEET...GATEWOOD, PASS & STAFF 100% SCAMBAGS

HOLY SHEEEET...GATEWOOD, PASS & STAFF 100% SCAMBAGS. I have transported a few of the trailers built by these ***-offs and after reading their website, decided to purchase my own with custom details. After waiting over a month past my expected finished date, after being told by Aubrey(dude with a female name), that they are catching up, I decided to Goggle the company to find their so-called status page..when I found the complaints page. Then I remember searching for their listings on EBAY last month and no longer seeing any trailers listed on USHIP as well. Then it all became clear....that ALL the family members including Michael ScamGatewood, his father, the Pass family, the sales staff including the dude with the female name (Aubrey) and other staff were nothing but LIARS, SCAMMERS & LOWLIFES. So now that I am glad they didn't call me to pick up that piece of sheet they call a trailer. Made from scraps of metal and rejected axles...I filed a dispute with my CC and if I ever find these LOWLIFES in business again, I will be sure to expose their SCAMMING WAYS. BURN IN *** ***-OFFS.

50% deposit paid, then 9 weeks later and the company is out of "business"

I as so many others put down 50% deposit when i ordered my trailer on April 17th. I called them on may 22nd and was told they was running behind due to axle problems. I was told it would take another 9-12 days to have it ready. Well now on June 28th i find out that i am not alone, and that this is a huge fraud case. Well i will be filling a claim with paypal, i will contact my local sherriff dept. and i will hire a lawyer and file a lawsuit. Anyone up to join for a class action lawsuit?

Anyone that has been ripped off by Michael Gatewood, Dewayne Pass, Rick Tumbleston, or any of the other participants of this little roadshow of fraud out of Georgia, and now Florida, Lets get together and put our efforts into gathering all info on past business names, people etc for the State AG to file federal charges on these *** That will most likely remove the protection of an LLC filling for the business and hopefully pave the way to personal asset confiscation from all parties. Even the Airport Board is guilty of at least poor judgement for allowing Husky Cargo to open up without checking references.

If they did check them out and let them operate there anyway as Husky Cargo and now as Alumatek Industries LLC , well that has a whole other legal ramification. Be that as it may, anyone affected by these people should contact your states Attorney General and file a complaint. It's their job to protect their citizens rights, plus their voice carries more force than ours. "All Evil needs to flourish is for Good people to do nothing".

Michael Lawyer said it was Mr. Pass who took the money and caused all the problems, seams he did the same thing in Georgia when they were known as Hurricane trailers and Compass Trailers and then in Florida as Husky Cargo and now Alumateck Industries, whos LLC papers were signed by Michael Gatewood on June 15, 2015. Mr. Pass has been a business associate of Micaels for years, and he has been stealing all these year and poor little Michael didn't know, yeah...right.

Seams rather interesting that Mr. Pass, (Dewayne), was listed as Principal agent for both Compass and Husky trailers with an address of 3908 Santee Way Valrico, Fl. 33596. The filing date for Compass was 6-12-2013, and Husky Cargos filing date is listed as 6-03-2013.

How can you be listed as the Principal agent on 6-03-2013 for a company that didn't even begin trailer manufacturing until Jan. 2015. If you are conducting business honestly as Compass trailers in 2013, why file as Principal agent 9 days earlier for a company that won't actually exist until late 2014 and begin manufacturing in 2015. I'm not sure YET, but I think Hurricane trailers existed between Compass and Husky.

If this isn't preplanning for future fraudulent business activities, that please tell me what it is. His Lawyer said Michael was in such bad financial shape that he had to get a JOB, LOL, I'm wiping away my tears as I type. LMAO. Guess that job is Alumatek Industries LLC at the SAME airport.

Same NAME Same GAME. When are the authorities going to put down their collective donut and do something.

I'm not holding my breath. Don't take my word for it, check this out on the net your self.

Review in Dealers category from Bisbee, Arizona

A few of us have been keeping in touch, my name is Sue for the people I've spoken to. The latest developments out of Fl. Is that Michael and his dad are flummoxed trying to open Alumatek because people caught on too quick, so be on the look out for a company called leg-a-c manufacturing out of fl. If that name is spelled incorrectly hopefully the person I spoke to will call and correct me. I was a out of the house when I received the call, and haven't done any in depth research to find it on the web other than a cursory Google search in which the name didn't come up. If anyone has time to look into that this evening I would just LOVE that phone number. Hopefully this will all be settled in a court of law soon, since several state agencies are well on there way down the trail as are those two intrepid reporters. I'd just like to say in closing, that if you are reading this sir, not only are you a menace to hard working people that put their trust into companies like yours, but you're a menace to your own wife and 2 small children by not being able to keep your pants zipped as all this is going down. Enjoy today. Tomorrow doesn't look very pretty.

Also, does anyone find it strange that the statement Husky Cargo left on here (same statement they put on their front gate in a photo another guy posted) said that their CREDITORS have hired their employees and are planning on delivering as many trailers as possible?

I'm no rocket mechanic, but seems to me that people you owe money to would not be interested in ANYTHING other than taking husky's equipment and getting what is owed to them. You think a creditor gives a *** whether or not we get our trailers?

Something screams *** in that story...

The truth is you don't want a trailer from Husky Cargo.

All tubular frame!

Bull ***! I did pick mine up and while trying to locate a running light short, I was crawling under the trailer and what did I discover " Z channel " cheap z channel cross member. I was pissed. There were no nylon grommets where they drilled holes thru the z channel for running the wiring.

The insulation was all chaffed and I found multiple areas like this. Cheap junk at a high price.

Don't do it!!!!!!!!

HUSKY CARGO SCAM!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Took my money for the deposit, used stall tactics, closed up shop! Owner Michael Gatewood has done this before as Hurricane Cargo and ow is trying again as Aluma Tek. What a piece of CRAP!!! Airport employees gave me his cell number 813-493-**** and said he was a scammer and they had several call and stop by. What a lowlife Michael Gatewood and he even has his father in on the scam since he is the one who owns the property they were leasing. Karma is a *** MOFO!!! If you have been scammed by Husky Cargo, call the local police, local sheriff, state attorney, BBB, attorney general etc.
