Husky Cargo Poor Service
Give deposit for a trailer 4/12 was promised delivery on 5/22. Still not got trailer or returned phone calls. Look them up under Florida Corporations manager changed to Alumatek Industries and they are owned under another name. Left lots of messages no return calls on original company number. Did get return phone call after leaving several messages on 813-693-****. Still no resolution. What money returned and will fight until resolved. Have read all the reviews and will be calling must of the numbers listed until I get money back and get satisfaction. It is ashame that people can keep doing this in the same industry over and over.

Husky Cargo Owner Miachael Gatewood used to be Hurricane Cargo SCAM
Call Polk County Sheriff: 863-298-**** ask to speak to fraud dept or detective unit. This company has pulled the SAME scam operating out of Georgia under the name Hurricane Cargo - Same owner. Airport employees confirm the building is empty, the business has left with everyone's money. There is no IMAGINARY second partner who stole the money. the owner is Michael Gatewood who has done this repeatedly under other company names. Cell Phone for Michael Gatewood Owner of Husky Cargo and hurricane Cargo is 813-493-****. One employee on the property earlier this week stated that Michael Gatewood didn't pay his employees and is reopening under a new name AlumaTech Trailers with this new company in his father's name. Additionally the 'receivership' emails sent are all ***, if the company was in receivership you would have received actual written notice by the creditors (no creditors - his dad is the 'creditor') not a fake husky cargo email address at gmail. How ridiculous.

Reputable dealers
There are few areas that don't have at least one reputable cargo trailer dealer, most of whom have spent many years building an excellent reputation. They keep a large inventory of trailers so you can see what you are going to get, offer expert advice according to your needs, and can order a special trailer for you built by the companies you see represented on their lots. They stand behind what they sell, providing you assurance of getting what you bargained for, and are there to provide service after the sale (often under warranty) should something not be right. Isn't it amazing how many people are so afraid that these folks will make a few hundred dollars for their trouble and investment that they will contact some fast talker they found on the internet, then spend no-telling-how-much on gas, wear and tear on car and tires, and time driving for their "factory pickup." Then when the piece of *** trailer predictably falls apart, they have nowhere to turn. And that's when they get a trailer at all, and are not just quickly scammed out of a huge deposit. Every scam is built on the twin pillars of greed and ignorance.

- Scam

Electrical issues
The day after Memorial Day I was attempting to leave at 5AM on my way to New Hampshire. I was checking my lights and had no running lights on the trailer. I checked the 7prong connector on my motorhome and had no voltage. I checked the fuse the owners manual said was the trailer plug and it was good so I waited to daylight as I had brake, directional, and flasher light, just no running lights. I went to General RV where I purchased the RV and had them check the coach to find out why I had no power to the running light prong. Hence they found a blown Mega fuse and replaced it with the trailer lights disconnected. Everything was working at the trailer receptacle. Plugged the trailer in and immediately blew the running light fuse again. The mechanic opened the battery box to check the connections that were made in there and found a bare black wire which is used for the charging circuit, but told me that is not the problem. We crawled under the trailer at the left rear corner and found the wires pulled banjo tight going thru *** drilled in the metal with no grommet. He examined the green wire and found the insulation worn thru and figured that was were it was grounded. He cut it and added a small piece of wire so it would be so tight going thru the metal. He then replaced the fuse again and it blew again. We then found the same situation at the upper left corner inside the trailer and proceeded to repair it. ( Never seen such poor workmanship when drilling thru metal and not installing grommets) Replaced fuse and running lights stayed on but the trailer was stationary, not being towed. It was almost 2PM in the afternoon so I didn't need the running lights to hit the road. Paid the bill for working on the trailer ( $222.11 I think) When it came time to use the running lights that night, it blew the fuse again. Now I'm pissed because I had to pull off the road for the night due to no *** running lights. The next morning I started to pull the trim wood off in the top right corner as the wire would not budge. It was jammed between the metal and the wood. I unscrewed the piece of wood across the top back of the trailer and found a pinched wire in the shape of a "z" caused by wood and no grommet to protect it. I didn't see and bare wire so I just cut the trim piece about 1" shorter than what it was to prevent it from putting pressure on the wire where it exits the hole in the metal. I then put a piece of plastic looming over the wire thru the hole to protect it. I have not tried the running light as of yet and won't until I install a 30amp fuse holder in the green wire in the battery case. The Mega fuse id $4.00 verses maybe .50 for the small fuse. As of now I can only travel during daylight hours. I still don't have running lights. I have taken some pictures of what I found and have a copy of the bill from General RV which I expect to be reimbursed along with my time spent fixing a very poorly wired trailer. I will post on the internet reviews for Husky Cargo Trailers if this issue is not handled in a timely fashion. Vern Fitts

HOLY SHEEEET...GATEWOOD, PASS & STAFF 100% SCAMBAGS
HOLY SHEEEET...GATEWOOD, PASS & STAFF 100% SCAMBAGS. I have transported a few of the trailers built by these ***-offs and after reading their website, decided to purchase my own with custom details. After waiting over a month past my expected finished date, after being told by Aubrey(dude with a female name), that they are catching up, I decided to Goggle the company to find their so-called status page..when I found the complaints page. Then I remember searching for their listings on EBAY last month and no longer seeing any trailers listed on USHIP as well. Then it all became clear....that ALL the family members including Michael ScamGatewood, his father, the Pass family, the sales staff including the dude with the female name (Aubrey) and other staff were nothing but LIARS, SCAMMERS & LOWLIFES. So now that I am glad they didn't call me to pick up that piece of sheet they call a trailer. Made from scraps of metal and rejected axles...I filed a dispute with my CC and if I ever find these LOWLIFES in business again, I will be sure to expose their SCAMMING WAYS. BURN IN *** ***-OFFS.

50% deposit paid, then 9 weeks later and the company is out of "business"
I as so many others put down 50% deposit when i ordered my trailer on April 17th. I called them on may 22nd and was told they was running behind due to axle problems. I was told it would take another 9-12 days to have it ready. Well now on June 28th i find out that i am not alone, and that this is a huge fraud case. Well i will be filling a claim with paypal, i will contact my local sherriff dept. and i will hire a lawyer and file a lawsuit. Anyone up to join for a class action lawsuit?

A few of us have been keeping in touch, my name is Sue for the people I've spoken to. The latest developments out of Fl. Is that Michael and his dad are flummoxed trying to open Alumatek because people caught on too quick, so be on the look out for a company called leg-a-c manufacturing out of fl. If that name is spelled incorrectly hopefully the person I spoke to will call and correct me. I was a out of the house when I received the call, and haven't done any in depth research to find it on the web other than a cursory Google search in which the name didn't come up. If anyone has time to look into that this evening I would just LOVE that phone number. Hopefully this will all be settled in a court of law soon, since several state agencies are well on there way down the trail as are those two intrepid reporters. I'd just like to say in closing, that if you are reading this sir, not only are you a menace to hard working people that put their trust into companies like yours, but you're a menace to your own wife and 2 small children by not being able to keep your pants zipped as all this is going down. Enjoy today. Tomorrow doesn't look very pretty.

They have my money and don't get back to me.
I sent them a deposit of 1500 back in April and they are now not available. I need my money back. they told me that they would have my trailer ready middle of may and wanted me to send a bank wire or cashiers check for the balance. I am glad that i didn't send them anything but they do have my 1500 from pay pal. I contacted pay pal . We will see what happens. Not happy about this and know there sending me a bogus email about some creditors seized there accounts and that they will be contacting me soon. I just want my money back asap.

Husky cargo just going to open up under a different company
i used to work for husky until they layed me off. what they're telling everyone about the bank or crediters foreclosing is a LIE. There is no bank. gatewood is just putting everything from husky into his daddy's name and they're going to use everything from husky to start a new company called alumatech. his daddy is the crediter. these people are the worst. don't let em fool you. they just want you to think they got no control over who is taking there assets so you won't think theres anything to come after! only thing worse than buying a trailer from Gatewood is working for him.

HUSKY CARGO SCAM!!
Took my money for the deposit, used stall tactics, closed up shop! Owner Michael Gatewood has done this before as Hurricane Cargo and ow is trying again as Aluma Tek. What a piece of CRAP!!! Airport employees gave me his cell number 813-493-**** and said he was a scammer and they had several call and stop by. What a lowlife Michael Gatewood and he even has his father in on the scam since he is the one who owns the property they were leasing. Karma is a *** MOFO!!! If you have been scammed by Husky Cargo, call the local police, local sheriff, state attorney, BBB, attorney general etc.

813 690 **** that's mikes number
Husky Cargo is now owned by Alumatek Industries, LLC which is owned by Michael Gatewood. NO Creditors, Alumatek (Michael Gatewood) took over Husky.
Michael Gatewood has pulled this exact same scam under the name Hurricane Cargo out of Georgia.
If you go to sunbiz.org the Florida department of corporations and search husky cargo, view all documents see the new owner is Alumatek Industries, then search Alumatek Industries and view all documents (pdfs on bottom) you will see they are all signed by Micheal Gatewood!
Micheal Gatewood is the person who stole your money, Paypal account for Husky Cargo deposits was in the name Micheal Gatewood, his email: mgatewood@***.com this *** has robbed all of you. Here is his cell number (if he hasn't shut it off) 813-493-****
You MUST report him to the Polk County Sheriff, the Bartow Municipal Airport since the property he was using for this scam is STILL owned by his father Cliff under the name Lone Wolf Properties who is now his partner on Alumatek Industries, LLC and in on the scam. The Florida Attorney General office as well as the BBB. I know this all will take you a little time (20 to 30 minutes) BUT this guy has ROBBED you, us...all of us intentionally.
He knew what he was doing, he has done it before.
Employees weren't paid, trailers not built, not even started and the ones that were started or built utilized scraps and inferior products and aren't worth a penny and will most likely end up casing a sever accident.
Two local reporters have reported online about the closing and are looking further into this matter since they have had numerous emails and calls. Please let them know your story as well for more evidence for their new story with the TRUTH:
